Who we are

Circular.ie is Ireland’s national hub for circular innovation, action, and solutions. We empower activists and organisations across the country to share their circular economy stories more effectively and inspire change.

We do this through:

  • Awards: The Full Circle Awards celebrate and recognise circular activities undertaken by people all across the country.

  • Grants: Circular.ie will provide grants for organisations to better tell their circular story, enabling improved communications right across the ecosystem

  • Sharing Success Stories: We provide a platform for sharing best practices, case studies, and inspiring stories in Ireland

  • Research: We produce cutting-edge research on barriers, enablers, and opportunities in communications around Ireland’s transition to a circular economy

Four Strategic Goals

  • #1 Accelerate Behaviour Change

  • #2 Increase Awareness & Expand Knowledge

  • #3 Support Public Engagement

  • #4 Strengthen Networking & Collaboration

4 work packages

  • The National Gateway Platform will constitute a low carbon website and associated branding, PR, social media and other assets that build capability for service users, in line with the principles of the COM-B model. It will be designed to enable knowledge-sharing, highlighting supports, sharing events, prompting calls to action and fostering connections.

  • Campaigns will be delivered both independently and in collaboration with Acceleration Partners and will be underpinned by PR, media and digital tools. Campaigns designed will be underpinned by evidence-based research, behaviour change frameworks and service design principles and will provide the motivation to energise and direct behaviour , in line with the principles of the COM-B model.

  • Public Engagement services will build on the power of community in Ireland, cultivating with community partners the capacity to communicate and engage citizens at a small and large scale. This will underpin the “opportunity”, in line with the principles of the COM-B model. The actions set out provide a phased approach to cultivating communities of practice, starting with engaging and supporting existing communicators and leading to the development of communities of practice.

  • Data and insights will inform all work to ensure activities are evidence based, effective and provide value for money. These insights will also be widely disseminated for use by partners, and help to build further capacity for excellence in communications and public engagement in a circular economy.
